LTN Stack receives IATA award as the first airport to harmonise ground handling procedures

The Luton Safety Stack received an award in Athens from IATA for being the first airport globally to harmonise its ground handling procedures, which helps both efficiency and safety by reducing the variability often found between different airlines and ground handling organisations. As Liam Bolger of London Luton Airport and Dave Cross of EasyJet put it, ‘there may be fifty ways to leave your lover, but at LTN there is now only one way to chock an aircraft.’ In the past two years the Luton Stack has developed and implemented a range of simplified and harmonised procedures across the airport, for ground handling activities from chocking aircraft to winter operations.
